MIA: Leaving the homestead

I’d be lying if behind those raybans isn’t a man very nervous.  New adventures are wonderful things, but it doesn’t mean you aren’t terrified.

I’m so excited to start this journey.  I hope to meet wonderful people and progress my writing and music to new heights with new artists.

Once I land I’ll be fine, I always am, it’s the flight more than anything else. Nine hours is a bit much for a beast like myself to be stuck in a tiny airplane seat.

It takes balls to do something like this.  Not knowing a soul out there.  Not having the comfort of the familiar.  Not having family to rely on.  Friends to celebrate accomplishments with, but that’s what makes it all the more exciting.  It’s only you. Whether I stay for a month in Europe or 5 years, it’s all on me.

I could pretend that I’m some sort of bad ass daredevil, but in truth I’m causious my nature. You won’t catch me bungee jumping or rock climbing, or skydiving (not a fucking chance).  What I will do though is see the world. Take in different cultures. Etc etc and on and on. In the end I’m only able to do this because of my family and friends. They lift me up, they believe in me, and they challenge me.

I’m gonna go get a cup of coffee I’ll be right back…want anything?
